70th Republic day

“Thousands salute to those patriots who gave us the opportunity to celebrate the Republic day.” The 70th Republic day was celebrated in Airport School with patriotic fervor and zeal on 26 January 2019. The event began with the hoisting of the Indian National Flag by the Airport Director and Chairman, School Management Committee Shri Manoj Gangal followed by the National Anthem. In his address he highlighted the significance of the day and made the children aware that the future of the country lies in their hands. Hence they need to study well now and inculcate good values in life, which will help them to be good citizens of the country. The school echoed with patriotic fervour as the children danced to the tunes of patriotism and sang patriotic song to mark the occasion. Miss Avani Gajjar, studying in std 11 Sci, delivered a speech to enlighten the students about the significance of Republic Day. The students took pride in glorifying and celebrating the spirit of unity and brotherhood.

Sports Day

Airport School-Ahmedabad celebrated Annual Sports day on 31 January 2019. The occasion was graced by Mrs. Gangal President, Kalayanmyee and Mr. Rajeev Mehta, General Manager, ATC, SVPI Airport, Ahmedabad. The day started off with march past of contingents of all the four houses Raman, Sardar, Ashoka and Tagore each led by their house captains which was a perfect example of coordination and team work. The occasion began with the declaration of Sports meet open by releasing of balloons and lighting the torch. The students entered into the full-fledged event by taking oath of sportsmanship. The students displayed a wide array of energetic and bouncy sports events such as track events and School drill etc. The Chief Guest Mr. Rajeev Mehta in speech urged the students to be physically fit by participating in various sports events and emphasized on the importance of sports in one’s life. Mrs. Gangal and Mr. Rajeev Mehta awarded the medals and the certificates to the winners of the various sports events.

Annual Day Celebration

Airport school Ahmedabad celebrated its Annual Day on 5th Feb 2019 at town Hall Gandhinagar. The theme was “NAVRAS – The Journey of Nine Emotions” The Chief Guest Dr. Sunil Shukla, Director Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, Gandhinagar and Shri Manoj Gangal, Airport Director and Chairman School Management Committee presided over the occasion. The programme began with the lighting of the lamp and Shiva Vandana. The Principal Ms. Shalini Dhanwani presented the annual report on academics, sports and co-scholastic achievements of the school. Prize distribution ceremony was held to felicitate and recognize the talent of students in various fields like reading, discipline and sports etc. The cultural programme began with mood of every emotion of Navras. The entire school participated wholeheartedly towards the success of this grand event. It was a celebration of culture, art, creativity and talent. The celebration proved to be a platform for the students to come together & show their inherent talents.

Pre-Primary Picnic

Airport School - Ahmedabad organized picnic for Pre - Primary section at Shanti Suman Resort, Sanand on Monday, 18th February. Children and teachers with full of energy and excitement headed for the resort at 8:15 a.m. from the school. All the students kept dancing till they reached the venue. As we reached the destination the foremost thing was that the children were served with the breakfast and milk. After that we took all the children for a camel cart ride to cherish the beauty of the resort The ride was full of fun and excitement which they enjoyed a lot. Then they spend little time playing with their friends in the park and enjoyed their favourite slides, swings, see saw, jumping and many more. The next event was the dance in the Discotheque. Later they had delicious lunch and watched a movie with their friends and last but not the least ‘’The Magic Show’’ where the magician performed some amazing tricks which both students and teachers enjoyed a lot. Picnic is important as children should be given time to be alone and learn about themselves through self-reflection, which can easily be done on a picnic. It also strengthens the bond between teachers and students.

Pre-Primary Convocation Ceremony

Airport School – Ahmedabad organized the first “Convocation Ceremony” for the young and energetic students of pre-primary section on 15 March 2019. The occasion was graced by the Secretary, Mr. Gaurang Nathwani. The programme started with traditional lighting of lamp along with Shloka Vandana chanted by little ones. The students exhibited their talent by performing in various events such as group dance, comic act, drama, group songs etc. The performances with lot of energy and vibrancy put a great show of confidence and enthralled all the spectators. Parents, in their speech, expressed their gratitude towards the school. The most important part of the day began with the walk of Sr.Kg. students dressed in graduation robes and caps. They were honoured with the scroll as a memento of appreciation.

Fire Safety

Workshop on Fire Safety and Life Saving Skills: Mr. Dhananjay Shanbhag and his team from AAI, Ahmedabad conducted a training session on Fire Safety and Lifesaving skills on 15th June 2016 at Airport School, Ahmedabad for the teachers and staff. Mr. Dhananjay was very keen in addressing the issues regarding fire, rescue and emergency responses and methods of firefighting. Different life saving skills such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and the use of AED (automated external defibrillator) were also demonstrated. Everyone can be a life safer using these techniques rescuing victims in a wide variety of situations. The sessions were truly interesting and brainstorming. All members of the staff felt happy and confident in dealing with fire after attending the sessions.

Bagless Week

Airport school Ahmedabad is organizing Bag less week from 6th May to 10th May 2019 to generate interest among the students in their curricular and extra-curricular activities Day #1 of the week began with practicing yoga for all the students to keep them energetic.Day #2 began with puppet show for classes I to VIII. .On day #3 Solo dance competition for classes VI to VIII started with great zeal and enthusiasm in the assembly ground.Day #4 Mediation a way to reduce stress and develop concentration, students of classes I to X practiced Meditation during morning assembly followed by karate demonstration.Day #5 On the last day of the bag less week the students of classes I to V enjoyed motivational stories by Ms. Dilpali Bhachech, Founder of Story Hub, followed by poem recitation and dance programs by students of classes I & II in their class rooms.Activities conducted during bagless week in Pre Primary section were Drawing and Colouring, Dance and Music, Movie, Plantation, Art and Craft, Indoor and Outdoor Games, Puppet Show, Clay moulding, Cooking without fire.

International Yoga Day

Yoga enables the unity of mind, body and soul. Different forms of yoga benefit our physical and mental health in different ways. International Yoga Day is celebrated to rejoice this unique art. With the same zeal and spirit, Airport School Ahmedabad celebrated 5th International Yoga Day on 21st June 2019 by performing various yoga ‘ASANAS” and breathing exercises. Under the guidance of instructors, the students and the teachers found themselves doing various ‘ASANAS” with great zest. Practicing yoga is one of the ways to grow into a better human being with a sharp mind, a good heart and a relaxed soul. Activities were conducted for classes pre -primary to class 12, it was indeed a successful effort with the importance of Yoga being experienced by the students and staff equally.

  10 November      Id-E-Milad

Id-E-Milad is the observance of the birthday of Islamic prophet Muhammad which is commemorated in Rabi' al-awwal, the third month in the Islamic calendar. The history of this celebration goes back to the early days of Islam when some of the Tabi‘un began to hold sessions in which poetry and songs composed to honour Muhammad were recited and sung to the crowds. The Ottomans declared it an official holiday in 1588,known as Mevlid Kandil.


 12 November          Gurunank Jayanti

Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru and Sikhism Community in Guru Guru Nanak.This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism, or Sikhi and Sikhs. The festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs . Their birthdays, known as Gurpurab, are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs.


 18 & 20 November          CCA

A Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) is a non-academic activity that all students, regardless of nationality, must participate in.Through CCAs, students discover their interests and talents while developing values and competencies that will prepare them for a rapidly changing world. CCA also promotes friendships among students. Activities: English Poem Recitation, Story Telling, Best Out of Waste, English Essay Writing.
