Airport School Ahmedabad celebrated 74th Independence Day with great vigour and enthusiasm. In wake of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic, a few teachers attended the function. The function started with flag hoisting by Mr. A K Verma, Airport Director, Ahmedabad Airport, Chairman, Management Committee. In his address, he motived and inspired the teachers and students. He also congratulated teachers for the excellent result in Classes X and XII. He said that the students are the future citizens and nation builders.
It was truly a day filled everyone’s heart with patriotism.
Janmashtami is the festival that devotes the birth of Lord Krishna. It also depicts his mischievous behavior in his childhood and youth. This day signifies excitement, euphoria and a joyous spirit of enthrallment. The love between Lord Krishna and Maiya Yashoda has inspired mothers of today’s generation to dance with their children on the beats of the song dedicated to Lord Krishna. On the occasion of Janmashtami nursery and junior kg students of Airport School have performed dance and small play in house and shared videos of the same.
Raksha Bandhan is a special occasion to celebrate the virtuous bond of love between a brother and a sister which is one of the deepest and noblest of all human emotions. Online handmade rakhi making to commemorate this festival. Teachers shared online videos of Rakhi making using materials available in house. Students prepared Rakhi‘s at their home. They gifted Rakhi’s to the under privileged people (maid’s, security guards etc.) in and around their place, spreading the bond of love, affection and care. Children participated it with great zeal and zest, they thoroughly enjoyed this activity that tickled their creative side. This event educated children about the significance of this festival and provided a better understanding of our culture.
Eid al-Adha or Eid Qurban is also called the “Festival of the Sacrifice. In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah. Devotees offer the Eid al-Adha prayers at the mosque. The Eid al-Adha prayer is performed any time after the sun completely rises up to just before the entering of Zuhr time, on the 10th of Dhu al-Hijjah. It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son as an act of obedience to God’s command. But, before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, God provided a lamb to sacrifice instead. In commemoration of this intervention, an animal, usually a sheep is sacrificed ritually and divided into three parts. One share is given to the poor and needy, another is kept for home, and the third is given to relatives. This story is known as the Akedah in Judaism (Binding of Isaac) and originates in the Torah, the first book of Moses (Genesis, Ch. 22).
Guru Nanak Dev Ji Jayanti celebrates the birth of the first Sikh Guru and Sikhism Community in Guru Guru Nanak.This is one of the most sacred festivals in Sikhism, or Sikhi and Sikhs. The festivities in the Sikh religion revolve around the anniversaries of the 10 Sikh Gurus. These Gurus were responsible for shaping the beliefs of the Sikhs . Their birthdays, known as Gurpurab, are occasions for celebration and prayer among the Sikhs.
A Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) is a non-academic activity that all students, regardless of nationality, must participate in.Through CCAs, students discover their interests and talents while developing values and competencies that will prepare them for a rapidly changing world. CCA also promotes friendships among students. Activities: English Poem Recitation, Story Telling, Best Out of Waste, English Essay Writing.
Airport School - Ahmedabad organized picnic for Pre - Primary section at Shanti Suman Resort, Sanand on Monday, 18th February. Children and teachers with full of energy and excitement headed for the resort at 8:15 a.m. from the school.
